The Philadelphia Records story

This Sunday we continue Legendary Record Labels, Smooth Radio's series in which guest presenters reveal the stories behind the record labels that have revolutionized popular music.
This time Sheila Ferguson of The Three Degrees is our guide to Philadelphia International Records where, throughout the early 70's Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff wrote and produced a string of soul hits with a social message for the head and infectious beats for the feet.
We visit Sigma Studios where we hear for the first time ever, exclusive unmixed session versions of classic Philadelphia tracks - including I Love Music, Don't Leave Me This Way, and Me and Mrs. Jones. Plus we hear from Gamble & Huff who, in a new exclusive interview, uncover the formula for their 40 year partnership; how they met and the chemistry and mechanics underpinning this classic song writing partnership.
That's Legendary Record Labels - The Philadelphia Story, presented by Sheila Ferguson this Sunday at 1pm on Smooth Radio.
